Semafor World Economy

About the Event
Semafor World Economy Annual Convening 2026 transformed Conrad Washington, DC into a fully immersive global convening for more than 500 CEOs, founders, investors, policymakers, and international delegates. Designed as a five-day gathering shaped by Semafor’s newsroom and editorial perspective, the convening blended headline interviews, bilateral meetings, roundtables, and social programming into a dynamic ecosystem of journalism, diplomacy, and executive engagement. With more than 70 events and over 1,000 resulting press clips, the program established itself as both a premier leadership convening and a major global media platform.
As the first full property buyout of the Conrad Washington, DC, the convening transformed the hotel into a multi-layered executive campus spanning three active stages, secure executive environments, media broadcast operations, hospitality spaces, and sponsor engagement areas. Programming extended beyond the hotel to iconic Washington institutions including the Library of Congress, Mellon Auditorium, National Archives Museum, and National Portrait Gallery, creating a citywide experience that reflected the convening’s international scale and diplomatic tone.
To execute a production of this scale, Stratus Firm assembled our largest team in company history, deploying more than 40 production professionals across operational, logistical, and executive experience functions. The team managed complex cross-property coordination, speaker and principal movement, broadcast integration, guest circulation, and high-level stakeholder operations throughout the week. The result was a highly curated environment that balanced world-class production precision with the intimacy, discretion, and fluidity required for meaningful global conversation.
